  1. hi bharath ,this is siddharth can u plz suggest quick review books for mci....thank you...............

  2. Hi Siddarth!
DIAMS final punch is a quick review book. I`m going to put some scanned pages as a sneak peek into the book. If you are intending to prepare from only quick review books, i would rather suggest
    1. Kamal KV,
    2. Bhatia MCI ( but doesn't have explanations)
    3. Platinum series.
Tell me more information, like how much time do you have, what is your method of preparation - MCQ or reading notes etc.

  3. Thanks a lot.........me preparing from diams text books ,mudith kanna previous papers.me thinking that these two are not enough.this time surely i want to clear mci ,from today exactly three months left.me ready to do with theory and mcqs.once again thank you

  5. U want me to scan my ophthalmology notes and put it up? Sorry Mr.Anonymous, there are like more than 100 pages, (more than 200 sides). Please check out the video in class notes. You can purchase them if you want.

  6. Sorry Mr.anonymous, i can if i get enough time someday. But i think a scan may be unusually more costlier than the normal book.

  7. hi dr bkid ...i m appearing for mci sreening test this september (2011) . as u know only two months are left ..is it okay if i only study mudit khana 1&2 ??

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well,Its a tough question. But i would say if you have revised Mudit khanna AIPGMEE atleast twice or thrice, including the extra points in the answers, i would say that should be sufficient to clear!

  9. hi Dr.bkid....m still studying in a foreign university, but next year i hav to come back and need to appear for mci test...i really want to clear mci in my first attempt...cn u plz suggest me the way for preparing it and the books i'll need for my preparations...

  10. @ anonymous:-
have posted this several times doctor. My suggestion is
    1. If you can join a nice coaching class, that would be best.
2.If joining is not possible, use my class notes as a pre-read and buy MCQ books subjectwise and start doing mcq`s.
You have ample time to do things subjectwise.

  11. less than two months left for the FMGE and i haven't studied much as i was busy with internship .what should i do ? which book to should i use at this stage ?

    ReplyDelete
  12. hello dr. bharat raj .. I will be sitting for screening test this september .Im living abroad and using old edition of mudit khana AIPGMEE volume 1 which contains papers from 1994 to 2002 .Volume 2 is new and contains latest papers , Do u think it will be a problem using the old edition of vol 1 ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. @ anonymous:- Well doctor, using the old edition of mudit khanna might not be a great issue. If you can prepare subject-wise quickly, you have a greater chance. Concentrate on Anat, biochem, patho, pharmac, ENT, ophthal, PSM , OBG &GYN, Pediatrics, Medicine and Surgery. Dont concentrate too much on FMT, Dermat, psychiatry etc. If you haven't joined any coaching, i would suggest my class notes and DIAMS books would be a nice substitute for the coaching class if you are willing to work hard.

  15. @anonymous:- This is quite unique doctor. As far as i know MCI, i do not think they make exceptions unless you have some very great influence in Delhi. I will let you know if there is any way to get eligibility certificate. You may try calling the registration department and making a request. But i doubt whether MCI will do something that might actually help you.All the best doc, if there is any way i`ll let you know.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thank you Doctor , ya influence only works . I will also keep you posted as mine is a unique case thank you sir , do let me know if you come across some thing or a case similar to mine
    Bye

  17. Doc can you please let me know the subjects included in each part of the exam ?? is community medicine included in part 1 or 2 ?? and what are the marks allocated for each part ??

    ReplyDelete
  18. @anonymous:- doctor, the questions are random in both the papers. If you have the book DIAMS mcq`s you will know, because they have given the questions the way it appeared in the exam. You will have 150 questions per session. Although I remember getting Community medicine mostly in session 2. I would suggest you to prepare with that in mind that questions often come randomly.

  19. hi doctor
i am appearing for sept2011 mci exam and as you have noticed, i have roughly 46 days.
i want you to help me prepare from scratch. i can spend 10-12 hours a day. i have studied a few subjects in the past but i don't remember a thing. i am really worried please help

    ReplyDelete
  20. @SG:- Well, doctor, what books do you have right now?
I should say, you don't have time to do anything else except buy notes and study and revise them once or twice.check out class notes section. You wont have time to read extra subjects , concentrate only on 9 subjects - anatomy, biochemistry, patho, pharmac, ENT, ophthal, PSM , Medicine, surgery, obg &gyn , Pediatrics. Don't try to read, psychiatry, dermat, ortho , anaesthesia etc.
    Checkout class notes section.

  23. hello everyone
dr.bharat can u tell how can i get a book of mudit khanna Mcqs online.i mean how can i download it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @anonymous:- When you are checking for your admit card status, just check if the card has been updated on the website. If it has not and its 22nd or something, call up NBE to find out the number. They will allow you to write the exam, if you haven't received the admit card before the exam under these circumstances.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @dr.phenominal:- i don't think you can get these Indian author books online doctor. I`ve tried but couldn't get mudit khanna.
If i get some link where you can download those books, i`ll let you know.

  32. i have one more doubt.if i clear mci exam i have to do permanent registration national level and statewise????.plzzz clarify my doubt.thank you

    ReplyDelete
  33. @anonymous:- If you have already completed internship outside doctor, getting your permanent registration as you said might take anywhere from 1 month to 4 months. As far as i know, in tamil nadu and other states, state registration will not be a problem. It took only one day in Tamil nadu!
You may do PG in a private college or institute if you have some influence without getting your registration. I do not know of any legal way to do it without permanent registration.

Does this fulfill the eligibility criteria.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sorry, i do not have access to the list of students who have passed.
Although when you go to delhi, and apply for provisional registration you will get to see a big list which contains all names, roll no. results etc. They don't give it out.You can try looking at this list at MCI office at the time of provisional or permanent registration.
If you want to know your result, you can do it by entering your roll no. in www.natboard.edu.in

    ReplyDelete
  41. @anonymous:- it will roughly take 1 month, sometimes longer. The registration in your state might also take up some time. Just be preparing for PG in the meanwhile. Yes once you have permanent registration adn get through PG exam, you can join next academic year.

But, i am telling you that, you get hand written notes in delhi too. You can compare and see, before purchasing anything. Final punch is a revision book given in DIAMS center, DIAMS mcq is also a separate book (past papers of MCI) . These are available only in diams centers.

      2. Past papers are available for downloading as pdf , in the downloads and practice papers section. If you want as hard copy also, it is available. Try kamal kv's book. if you want the papers as such, answers( minimal false positives!) but without explanation- still available.

( these are for few people who won't get their hall ticket even on last 2 days before exam) they can just take the print out from the site and bring them along to the center.

  66. Hello Doctor,
First of all i would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my problem because at this point of time i find myself standing and gazing at no man's land.
Doctor, i am going through a difficult time because i have not yet received my admit card which is required by me to be eligible to attend my MCI exams and to make matters worse, i am in the fifth year which leaves only one year as the course is of six years. Now i also happen to study abroad and come to India only for two months during the holidays. I hadn't received the admit card and had no knowledge about its worth until this year when i was apprised by one of my Indian classmate who happened to mention it by sheer chance during a discussion of whether to stay back in Delhi and prepare for the MCI exams.
I don't know a lot of people in Delhi and besides I also have no acknowledgement or the receipt of the form i submitted at MCI in August 2007.
I am completely lost and will be in Delhi in the next few days to visit the MCI office .
Therefore i would humbly request you to guide me as to what i should do so that i am able to sit for my exams next year.
I will be ever grateful to you for the guidance and support that you may provide me.
    Thanking you

    1. I~ve given this reply 2 -3 times before read up. Since you have already transferred, don;t worry. WRite the university and college name, which provides you the degree certificate. Only then it will be easy for MCI to verify. Otherwise they will be inquiring with the wrong college, and will take months for you to receive your degree. If you mention your college name which has awarded you the degree, you shouldn;t be in any problem.

    2. where should i mention the college name?in eligibility certificate?or again i have to apply for it?

    1. 1. i think your provisional admit card mentions that you have 10 days after the exam to submit your documents. Right?
      2. Call up MCI and request / or Do so when you go there to write the exam. Stay there a day or 2 longer after the exam. Meet the Head person responsible for this and request him, tell him that you have applied for eligibility but have not received it from MCI yet. They will move it faster for you. It will depend on how well you orchestrate the event.
      Call up and remind them.
Last but not least - Don't panic and don't get tensed because of this.

    3. Call up Natboard and explain the problem. Call up MCI after that and request for quick issuance of eligibility , explaining the same problem. Mobilize anyone you have in delhi to collect eligibility from MCI office. Office visiting will only be from 3-5pm.

    1. yes i came across this problem earlier, a candidate got less than 50% marks in plus 2. However i have no solutio dude. that's why i am not answering. MCI eligibility clearly states, 50% or 40 % +2 marks depending on the caste.

  86. Hi Dr Bharat,I am currently in 3rd year(out of 6) in an Eastern European medical uni. Here in eastern europe, there is no concept of doing a 1 year internship after the 6 years. In this case, how do I satisfy the requirement by MCI of doing a 1yr internship? Can I be exempted from this requirement?

  91. Sir,
I am planning to go Russia for Kazan University for medical study for next year , but I have a doubt on MCI eligiblity application form, there we need to provide from 11th marksheet onwards which I dont have any , I have done HSC from Tamil nadu state board and Board did not provided any 11th marsheet so will it be mandatory to produce 11th marksheet in order to full fill MCI eligiblity application condition , If so whom should I contact because I dont think T.N board provides any marksheet for 11th std. , Will School Bonafide letter head containing 11 std marks and details would work ? And how is the plan to study in Russia ? kindly help me with your valuable advise on this 11th std mark statement issue
    Thanks
